Physics of Beauty is my second solo album, released as a digital art project in 2020. The composition reflects my fascination with quantum physics and fundamental research, and can be found at physicsofbeauty.art.
Working together with designer Alessia Scuderi and creative coder Gianluca Monaco, I aimed to capture the exploratory nature of research in the album's release, resulting in its design as an interactive webpage.

The music and aesthetics of Physics of Beauty are intended to serve as the starting point for this new media opera. I am writing new parts for the Vorarlberg Jazz Orchestra to accompany the existing electronic pieces, as well as completely new pieces. Perhaps a theme from Morphing I & II, two pieces that I had the privilege of writing for the JOV in the past, will also be included in the programme. These pieces dealt with transformations and transitional stages and could therefore be considered thought experiments in physics and art.

The Jazzorchester Vorarlberg is the perfect musical partner for 'Physics of Beauty': deterministic and calculable natural phenomena are represented by precise, notated music and driving rhythms, while the spontaneity of the smallest particles and the unintuitive haunting of quantum entanglement are represented by improvised passages and aleatoric music that plays with chance.

I am delighted that Gianluca Monaco will be collaborating with me on the libretto for 'Physics of Beauty: A Media Opera' and will once again be developing his own software and interactive codes for the live visuals — algorithms that will serve as the opera's visual protagonists. Enjoy!
